I'm Cindy King, owner of Valley Vista Medical Billing.

I know how important it is to get medical billing right and that's what I do. Since 1993, I have acquired a vast breadth of knowledge and experience in this specific area of the healthcare industry.

Some consider billing to be like accounting but the truth is I am more of a detective. If a doctor doesn’t get paid then I figure out why it occurred and how to fix it — that’s what I am good at. The industry changes constantly and the government makes changes all the time to codes and rules and adjudication policies so I'm always learning something new and figuring it out — it never gets boring! As a medical billing specialist, I have always enjoyed handling complex issues with interest and confidence. I keep track of all the details and changes so you don't have to!

As owner and manager, I’m lucky to have a terrific team helping me ensure that clients receive the best possible service. We work together in an efficient professional manner and at the same time enjoy lots of laughs.

Since 1993, I have been providing medical billing training. Initially working for post-secondary MOA programs which I developed, monitored, and taught, as well as through workshops I facilitated, including ones for the Family Practice Residents in Medical Billing and Medical Office Management. Then, I traveled around the province providing private medical billing training and sharing my experience and expertise with Physicians, Medical Practitioners, Management, and MOAs. I have also worked with many of the Divisions of Family Practice in British Columbia and I was honored to be asked to present at the Obstetrics Update for Family Physicians in 2020 for the sixth time. I am thrilled by the opportunity to contribute to this essential industry.

Many years ago (more than I can count on my fingers and toes!), I started my career as a lifeguard, moved up the ranks, and graduated with formal training in Facilities Management. Managing aquatic facilities is certainly quite a leap to Medical Billing, but I can honestly say that what I do now has never given me as much satisfaction as the various careers I have explored along the way. I'm incredibly committed to my business, as those clients who receive answers to their emails in the wee hours of the morning will attest. I love my job, the people I work with, and the many wonderful clients we get to help. I can’t imagine doing anything else!
